8.1 Following an object with the camera

Camera framing is an important aspect of any project in Blender for both

still images and animations. You might want to use a feature that makes

a camera follow an object's motion for animations. That will be useful on

several occasions where you have an important subject in animations.

To make your camera follow any object in a scene, use a constraint

called Track To. Since that constraint is important for animations, it

features multiple ways to assign into a 3D model:

Using the Constraint tab at the Properties editor: Select the

camera and add the Track To option.

Go to the Object → Track → Track To Constraint menu: Select

the camera first and the target object last. Use the menu option to

add the constraint.

Both options add a constraint to the camera object that you can edit at

the constraint tab (Figure 8.1).
